Mr. Karney is product program manager for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) portion of the ENERGY STAR Program, a joint program with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Previously, he was Director of the Office of Building Systems and Office of Building Equipment at DOE. Mr. Karney presently serves as U.S. Representative on the International Energy Agency (IEA) Energy Conservation in Buildings and Community Systems Executive Committee, which manages international collaborative research and development. Mr. Karney holds an M.S. in Energy and Environment from The George Washington University and Bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering and meteorology.
