  1. THE PROMOTION: GE CAFÉ COOKING EXPERIENCE SWEEPSTAKES Promotion ("Promotion") consists of seven (7) weekly sweepstakes ("Weekly Sweepstakes") and one (1) Grand Prize sweepstakes ("Grand Prize Sweepstakes"). The Promotion starts at 12:00:01 A.M., Eastern Time ("ET") on 9/3/07 and ends at 11:59:59 P.M., ET on 10/28/07. The specific dates for each Weekly Sweepstakes and the Grand Prize Sweepstakes are as stated in Rule 2 below. To participate in the Promotion, go to www.geappliances.com/cafe and provide the information requested on the registration page. Limit: One entry per person per day regardless of e-mail address used.
  2. IMPORTANT DATES FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE PROMOTION: It consists of seven (7) Weekly Sweepstakes starting and ending at the times and dates as described in the table below and one Grand Prize Sweepstakes. Entries from one Weekly Sweepstakes will not be carried forward to a subsequent Weekly Sweepstakes; however, all Weekly Sweepstakes entries will be entered into the Grand Prize Sweepstakes. Entry is via Internet only.

    NOTE: There will not be a Weekly Sweepstakes during the week of 10/22/07 through 10/28/07; however, you will still be able to register during that week at www.geappliances.com/cafe for an entry into the Grand Prize Sweepstakes.
  3. RANDOM DRAWINGS & ODDS OF WINNING: On or about the dates listed in the table above, Mercury Promotions & Fulfillment ("Mercury"), an independent judging agency, will select the names of the potential winner ("Potential Winner") of each Weekly Sweepstakes in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received for that respective Weekly Sweepstakes, and s/he will be notified by phone, e-mail or postal mail on or about the date listed in the table. The potential winner of the Grand Prize Sweepstakes will be selected in a random drawing by Mercury on or about 11/1/07 from among the total number of all eligible entries received throughout the Promotion Period. Mercury's decisions shall be final in all matters pertaining to this Promotion. Odds of winning a Weekly Sweepstakes depend on the number of eligible entries received in that respective Weekly Sweepstakes. Odds of winning the Grand Prize Sweepstakes depend on the total number of all eligible entries received throughout the Promotion Period.
  4. PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES ("ARV"): Grand Prize (1); Total Number of Weekly Sweepstakes Prizes: 7; 1 Prize per Weekly Sweepstakes: WEEKLY SWEEPSTAKES PRIZE: Each Weekly Sweepstakes Winner will receive a GE Café™ 30" dual-fuel range (Model #C2S980SEMSS), ARV: $2,599 or if a Weekly Sweepstakes Winner prefers, s/he may instead choose to receive one of the following GE Café appliances: (A) GE Café 30" gas range (Model #CGS980SEMSS), ARV: $2,499; (B) GE Café dishwasher (Model #CDW9380NSS), ARV: $1,199; (C) GE Café 25.4 cu. ft. refrigerator (Model # CSS25USWSS), ARV: $2,199; or (D) GE Café Spacemaker® 2.0 cu. ft. microwave oven (Model # CVM2072SMSS), ARV: $649. NOTE: General Electric Company ("Sponsor") will only deliver the Prize to a Winner's legal residence within the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States or the District of Columbia that is within a GE delivery zone. If a potential Winner resides in an area that is not within the GE delivery zone, the potential Winner must agree to accept delivery at the location within the GE delivery zone that is closest to Winner's residence and to be solely responsible for delivery from that location to Winner's residence. Regardless of Prize won, all costs and expenses not specifically included above are each Winner's sole responsibility, including all federal, state and local sales and use taxes, etc. Installation of an appliance won in a Weekly Sweepstakes and removal of the appliance being replaced is the sole responsibility of the Winner. GRAND PRIZE: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive a trip for two ("Trip") to New York City to attend the Institute of Culinary Education consisting of round-trip coach airfare from major airport closest to Grand Prize Winner's residence to New York City, 4 days/ 3 nights' hotel accommodations (standard room, double occupancy); selection of two (2) cooking classes per person at the Institute of Culinary Education (ARV: $5,000, depending on city of origin and dates of travel). All other costs not mentioned above, including but not limited to meals, beverages, hotel and personal services, ground transportation, souvenirs, etc. are Grand Prize Winner's sole responsibility. All trip accommodations and reservations will be as arranged by Sponsor; however, a minimum of 21 days advance reservations is required; and all accommodations and reservations are subject to availability and blackout dates. Grand Prize Winner and travel companion must travel on same itinerary and present necessary travel identification documents prior to ticketing. Travel Companion may not be a minor, unless Grand Prize Winner is his/her parent/legal guardian/spouse. Trip must be completed by 10/28/08. Sponsor has no responsibility for Grand Prize Winner's inability to utilize Prize. Total ARV of all Prizes: $9,543 - $23,193. IMPORTANT: Regardless of Prize won, no Prize is redeemable for cash; nor is it transferable or substitutable except that Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, substitute a Prize or any component thereof with one of equal or greater value. Winners of the Grand Prize Sweepstakes and Weekly Sweepstakes will each be required to sign and return within ten (10) days of notification or attempted notification of being a potential Winner, an Affidavit of Eligibility/Compliance (including Social Security Number as required for tax reporting purposes) & Publicity/Liability Release (where permitted by law), or an alternate potential Winner(s) will be selected. Additionally, Winners will receive a Form 1099 in the amount of the actual value of the Prize, as required by law. Limit: A Winner of one Weekly Sweepstakes is not eligible to win any other Weekly Sweepstakes nor is his/her spouse, parent, child or any individual who resides in a Winner's household; however, a Winner of a Weekly Sweepstakes is otherwise eligible to win the Grand Prize Sweepstakes.
  5. ELIGIBILITY: The Promotion is open only to persons who are legal residents of, and living within, the 48 contiguous United States and District of Columbia, 21 years or older, as of the date of entry except officers, directors, and employees (and members of their household and of their immediate families, i.e., parents, children, stepchildren, spouse, siblings and persons residing in the same household of such immediate family members) of Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, sales representatives, distributors, advertising/promotion/web design agencies including Mercury Promotions & Fulfillment, and/or their affiliates, assigns or representatives; (herein after referred to collectively as "Sponsor & Others"), and all other persons or entities associated with the development, administration, promotion, execution of, or supply to this Promotion.
  6. RELEASE: By acceptance of the Prize, the Winner releases the officers, directors and employees of Sponsor, Mercury, and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, dealers, distributors, suppliers, advertising and promotion agencies, and all other individuals or entities involved in the creation, administration, or fulfillment of this Promotion (all of the former collectively referred to as "Sponsor & Others"), from and against any and all liability and claims or causes of action, including , but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property with respect to all aspects of this Promotion, arising out of participation in this Promotion, Promotion or Prize related activity whether sponsored by Sponsor or third parties, or the acceptance or possession or use/misuse of the Prize or any component of the Prize.
  7. INTERNET: Sponsor & Others are not responsible for interrupted or unavailable network server or other connections, miscommunications, failed telephone or computer transmissions or jumbled, scrambled or misdirected entries or transmissions, or for phone, electrical, network, computer hardware or software or program malfunctions, failures or difficulties or for other errors, omissions, interruptions, or deletions of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic or for any damage to any person's computer related to participating in the Promotion. Sponsor & Others are not responsible for illegible, unintelligible, late, lost or stolen entries or incorrect or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Promotion or by any technical or human errors which may occur in the processing of any entries in this Promotion. Any entrant who attempts to play with multiple e-mail addresses, under multiple identities or uses any other device or artifice to play multiple times or to interfere with the proper play of this Promotion, will be disqualified from participation in the Promotion. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Promotion, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified and may be subject to prosecution. If in the judgment of Sponsor, the Promotion is compromised by virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor, which corrupts the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Promotion, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to discontinue, suspend or terminate the Promotion. Any personally identifiable information collected during an entrant's participation in this Promotion will be collected by Sponsor and used by Sponsor and its agents solely for purposes of the proper administration and fulfillment of the Promotion as described in these Official Rules or as stated in Sponsor's Privacy Policy at http://www.geappliances.com/privacy/privacy_policy.htm. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a potential Winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be deemed to have been made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
  8. DISPUTES: Issues concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules shall be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. All disputes arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes will be resolved individually, and without resort to class action, exclusively by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan (Southern Division) of the appropriate Michigan State Court located in Macomb County, Michigan. Should there be a conflict between the laws of the State of Michigan and any other laws, the conflict will be resolved in favor of the laws of the State of Michigan. All judgments or awards shall be limited to actual incurred out-of-pocket expenses (excluding attorneys' fees) associated with participation in this Promotion and shall not include any indirect, punitive, incidental and/or consequential damages.
  9. GENERAL: By participating in the Promotion, entrants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of Mercury which are final and binding in all matters and all respects relating to this Promotion. This Promotion is void in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and wherever else prohibited by law. Acceptance of a Prize constitutes Winner's consent to the use of his/her name, photograph and/or likeness for advertising and publicity purposes as determined by Sponsor without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. All entries and/or materials submitted become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Sponsor & Others are not responsible for any lost, late, undelivered, misdelivered or postage due mail.
