Front Load Washer - Moving Instructions

If the front-load washer needs to be moved to a new location, like into a storage space or in a moving van, it's important to prepare the washer properly to avoid damage to the appliance.
 

Preparing the Front Load Washer

  1. Unplug the washer power cord.
  2. Drain the water out of the pump by removing the pump filter.
  3. Turn off the hot and cold water supply to the washer.
  4. With a pair of pliers, carefully unscrew and remove the hoses from the washer and the faucets.
    • The hoses can be stored inside the washer tub once you have drained the water out of them.
  5. Remove the drain hose from house drain standpipe.
  6. Remove the mounting screw that holds the hose attached to the back of washer.
  7. Pull drain hose out and store it in tub.
  8. Re-install the shipping bolts, spacers, and clamps on the back of the washer to prevent damage to the unit.
    • To obtain a new Shipping Bolt Kit for a front load washer, the part number for is WH16X10006. The length of bolts in the Washer Shipping Bolt Kit is approximately 6-15/16".
