Dishwasher Washing Plastic and Non-Stick Coated Dishware

Most manufacturers will tell you if their plastic ware is safe in the dishwasher. If they do not, you may wish to write and ask for their recommendations. Test one piece in the dish washer before washing the entire set. Place the dish in the upper rack and eliminate the heated dry part of the cycle to reduce the risk of warping.

Items coated with a non-stick surface may be washed in the dishwasher. After washing, wipe the non-stick area with vegetable oil to retain its non-stick properties.

We have not tested baby bottles and nipples in the dishwasher. If product doesn't state "dishwasher safe", you can test one piece or check with the manufacturer. However, you should be aware the dishwasher doesn't sterilize (the water doesn't reach 180 degrees, the temperature needed for sterilization) and the water jets may not get inside the narrower opening of the bottle to properly wash it.
