Time: 1 hour
INGREDIENTS
5 Tablespoons butter, room temperature (olive oil also works)
â…“ cup packed brown sugar
1 cup old-fashioned whole rolled oats
½ cup pecans, walnuts or pumpkin seeds
6 medium honey crisp or pink lady apples
Vanilla yogurt to garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat your GE Air Fry Toaster oven to bake at 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl mix together the butter, sugar, oats and nuts until well combined. Set aside while you prepare the apples.
Kids should get help from a grown-up for this step.
Using a paring knife, push the knife halfway through the apple. Cut out the stem and most of the core. Move the knife in a circle at a 45 degree angle. Use a melon baller to remove any remaining core or seeds and to make room for the crumble filling. Make sure you don’t go too far or else you will cut all the way through the apple.
Fill the cavity in the apple with the oat mixture, pressing to make sure it’s fully filled. Place the apples on a rimmed cookie sheet or an 8x8 baking dish. Bake uncovered until the apples are tender and the crisp is golden, about 45-55 minutes depending on the size of the apples.
Cool for 10 minutes before serving with vanilla yogurt.
