Front load washing machines combine great cleaning results with water and energy savings. Using a reversing tumble wash action, a front load washer cleans clothing by gently lifting, then dropping the wash load back into the wash water solution. There is less friction on clothing, resulting in less wear on your fabrics. High-efficiency or “HE”-formulated detergent is recommended.

High-Efficiency Top-Loading Washer

Instead of a traditional 'post-style' agitator, high-efficiency topload washers have a wash plate at the bottom of the basket. These washers use a reversing wash action and centrifugal spin to infuse concentrated detergent solution and water through fabrics to provide gentle yet thorough cleaning. High-efficiency or “HE”-formulated detergent is recommended.

Before you buy your next washer or dryer, be sure to gather the following information to find the right fit for you and your family. You can also print and complete our form, then take it to your local dealer to find the perfect GE laundry product for you!

How many loads of laundry do you do each week?
To reduce the number of weekly loads, look for a GE washer and dryer pair with larger capacity. GE offers washers with up to 4.2 cu. ft. of capacity, and dryers with capacities up to 7.5 cu. ft.

Do you typically wash large items, such as comforters, at home?
A large-capacity washing machine and dryer makes it easier to wash bulky items at home.

Do you have a wardrobe that requires special care?
Look for GE washers and dryers with settings designed specifically to provide gentle care to delicate fabrics.

Do you wish to save money and energy in the laundry room?
Look for the ENERGY STAR® label on the washing machine. ENERGY STAR qualified appliances must meet federal standards for energy savings.
