From your home to ours - a commitment to American Manufacturing
For more than 60 years, Appliance Park has been a proud part of the Louisville community, offering good jobs for local residents and serving the community through volunteerism, sponsorships and product donations.

In 2010 GE announced $1 billion of investments in the business, allowing for major renovations to manufacturing facilities, development of new products and hiring for new jobs.

By investing in new plants, equipment and technology, insourcing the manufacture of many of our new products and upgrading employee training, we have recommitted ourselves to making great American-made appliances. In the process, we've created thousands of new jobs.

To remain competitive in an increasingly difficult market, investments in our operations and people continue to grow the business. We recently announced more than $250 million of new investments to strengthen our manufacturing capabilities. These investments are scheduled to continue through 2016.

On September 8, 2014, GE announced a deal to sell the Appliances business to Electrolux. The sale is pending while the U.S. Department of Justice completes its thorough review process. The deal is anticipated to close mid-2015. Until the deal closes, GE Appliances and Electrolux remain competitors in the market.

On June 1, 2015, national contract negotiations began in New York to reach a new contract between GE and its unions. GE and the IUE-CWA have a positive history of negotiating fair labor contracts, successfully ratifying the past 13 contracts. We expect the same outcome again this year.
