GE Dual Fuel Freestanding Range - April 2009 Recall
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the General Electric Company (GE) have announced a recall of certain GE Profile 30" freestanding dual fuel ranges. These units have an electric oven and gas cooktop burners. Please read this notice carefully and call the GE Recall Hotline if your dual fuel range is included in the recall. This recall includes 27,681 dual fuel ranges manufactured from June 1, 2002 until December 31, 2004.
To determine if your dual fuel range is included in the recall, submit the information below or call the GE Recall Hotline.
Is your dual fuel range included in the recall?
Find out if your dual fuel range may be included in this recall. All fields are required. To locate your model and serial numbers, look inside your dual fuel range at the left inside corner of the bottom drawer.
NOTE: Pay special attention to the serial number because not all dual fuel ranges of the same model are included.
Wiring in the rear of the range can overheat and cause a fire. You should stop using the oven immediately. You may continue to use the cooktop burners.
GE is aware of 47 reports of overheated wiring, including 33 reports of wiring that caught fire. Of these, one fire caused structural damage to the home, and there have been 14 reports of minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.
