GE bottom-freezers are uniquely configured to put fresh foods within convenient reach. And since the fresh food door is opened far more frequently than the freezer door, a bottom freezer refrigerator reduces bending and stooping.

Panel Refrigerator

Panel Refrigerators Can Create a Custom Design for Your Kitchen

Several GE and GE Profile built-in and counter-depth side-by-side refrigerators can be customized with additional custom refrigerator panels. With a custom panel-ready refrigerator, you can have a refrigerator that matches your kitchen cabinetry. You can also easily change the look of your refrigerator by simply swapping out the panels.

When shopping for refrigerators that accept custom panels, note that:

  • White and black acrylic, and stainless steel panels can be purchased from GE through the Parts and Accessories Store.
  • Panels to match your cabinetry must be purchased from your cabinetmaker.
  • For panel-ready refrigerator models, panels are required to complete the look of the refrigerator.
  • Panel sizes and widths can vary; be sure to check the details for individual refrigerator models for the exact panel specifications.
  • For more information about refrigerator door panel options, contact the GE Answer Center by e-mail or at 1-800-626-2005.

Shopping Guide: Questions to consider before buying your new refrigerator

Before you buy your next refrigerator, be sure to gather the following information to find the right refrigerator for you and your family. You can also print and complete our form, then take it to your local dealer.

Measure the space where your refrigerator will be placed:
____in. WIDE x ____in. HIGH x ____in. DEEP

Would you prefer to have the door swing open from the left or the right?

Will the door swing open near a wall, cabinet, or piece of furniture?
Is there enough clearance for the door to swing completely open, so that the bins and drawers can be removed for cleaning?

When deciding on capacity, consider the following:

  • How many people are in your household?
  • Do you normally cook at home, or eat out?
  • Do you enjoy hosting large parties where you provide snacks or meals?

Would you prefer your refrigerator be ENERGY STAR® qualified?

Are you looking for a customized look to match your existing cabinetry?
Some GE Profile models accept custom refrigerator panels, available from your cabinetmaker.

Are you looking for a refrigerator with filtered ice/water through a dispenser?
There are several types of icemakers and water dispensers. Not all dispensers feature filtration; some filters are for water only, not ice. Look for the specifics on individual refrigerator models.
