Dryer Buying Tips

Before you start shopping, it helps to spend some time thinking about how laundry fits into your daily life. And if you haven't shopped for a new dryer in a while, exploring the newest features and technologies can help in your decision-making process.

Features to consider when buying a dryer

Capacity

How many loads of laundry do you do each week? A large-capacity dryer can handle a larger load, which means you can get through more piles of laundry in less time. Plus bulky items like comforters can be laundered at home.

Dryer Location

If space is an issue for installing your dryer, you can look for dryers that can be stacked on top of the washer. We also have dryers that can be built into cabinets or installed under a counter. Of course, dryers that sit side-by-side with your washer are available too.

Another consideration is venting. If you are replacing your dryer, you will most likely need a new dryer vent hose. Be sure you get a hose that is long enough to vent your dryer air appropriately. All GE Appliances top load dryer models now vent to 120 feet.

Dryers with Steam

We've all done it: Left a load in the dryer overnight, only to find the load completely wrinkled the next morning. A GE dryer with the Steam Dewrinkle feature can help get the entire load wrinkle-free and fresh, which can eliminate the need to iron.

Another steam option is Steam Refresh. This feature uses steam to remove wrinkles and odors from clothes. So feel free to wear those jeans a second (okay, third) time!
