Microwave Buying Tips

A microwave is more than just a dorm-room staple. Before you buy your next microwave, take the time to gather the following information to find the right one for you and your family.

Basic Questions to Ask Yourself Before Buying

What kind of microwave do you currently own?

If you are interested in an over-the-range microwave, do you need your microwave oven to vent cooktop steam, heat and odors outside? We offer both vented and non-vented over-the-range microwaves. Whether vented or recirculating, all GE 30" over-the-range microwave ovens are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions. This makes it simple to install a new microwave or replace a current GE over-the-range microwave oven.

Do you ever wish you had a second oven? If additional oven space sounds appealing to you, you might want to consider a convection oven or Advantium oven, available in both built-in wall oven and over-the-range models. Advantium ovens use light to cook foods up to eight times faster than traditional ovens, plus can still function as a basic microwave.
