  Midea, the manufacturer, is recalling the GE brand dehumidifiers.

•   Why is Midea carrying out the recall of a GE-branded product?

  Midea, the original manufacturer of this GE-branded product, has determined that it will repair dehumidifiers included in the recall. Midea believes that offering to repair the product for free is the most effective means to reduce the potential hazard. The CPSC has approved Midea's repair plan, and GE believes that the repair plan Midea has outlined will adequately address the potential risk of fire.

•   Can consumers continue to use their dehumidifiers?

  No. Consumers should unplug and stop using their dehumidifier immediately.

  The model number & serial number area printed on the name plate sticker located on the back of the unit.

•   How do I obtain a free repair?

Consumers should not return the recalled dehumidifiers to the retailer where purchased.
