INGREDIENTS
2 sticks salted butter
160 grams / ¾ cup brown sugar
165 grams / ¾ cup white sugar
2 eggs
100 grams / ½ cup malted milk powder
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
240 grams / 2 cups all-purpose flour
170 grams / 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Flaky salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Melt butter in a light colored pan over medium heat, stirring consistently until brown. Be careful not to burn to butter. It should be foamy and fragrant with brown flecks on the bottom of the pan.
Transfer the butter to the bowl of your GE Profile Smart Stand Mixer and allow it to cool. It should be warm or room-temperature before moving to the next step.
Using the scale function of the Smart Mixer, add in the sugars. Using the paddle attachment, mix the sugars and the browned butter until combined.
Add in the eggs and beat until smooth.
Using the scale function, add in the malted milk powder, vanilla and baking soda whisk again.
Weigh in the flour and mix on low until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Chill the dough for at least 1 hour or overnight.
Once ready to bake, preheat the oven to 375º F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Scoop about 1 ½ tablespoons of dough and place on the prepared baking sheet leaving 2” of space between the cookies. A cookie scoop ensures uniform cookies.
Sprinkle the dough with flaky salt and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Allow the cookies to cool and enjoy.
