Omaha Steaks began as a small-scale butcher shop, founded by J.J. and B.A. Simon in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. From there, they grew rapidly. B.A.'s son, Lester Simon, joined the company in 1929, and his leadership accelerated their growth, expanding their reach through cross-country foodservice partnerships, which put Omaha Steaks on the menus of railroad dining cars and troop transport trains. This exposure brought them widespread renown and a legacy that has lasted over 100 years.
